Get Your Analysis Approved: the Weekly Creator Update Memo

Stop drowning in metrics. Build a one-page memo that turns your analysis into clear, approved actions for your creator team.

Who This Helps

This is for the Junior Analyst who’s done the work but needs to get everyone else on the same page. If you’re in the Creative Economy Mission Pack, you know Rafael’s problem: too many metrics leading to decision paralysis. This is your fix.

Mini Case

Rafael saw a 15% drop in Week 3 audience retention. His usual report had 12 charts. The team debated for 30 minutes with no clear next step. He switched to a one-page memo. It highlighted one key insight, one recommended test (a new hook format), and the expected 5% lift. The sponsor approved it in one meeting.

Do This Now (5 Steps)

  1. Open a fresh doc. Title it “Weekly Decision Memo: [This Week’s Date]”.
  2. State one business question. What’s the single biggest thing the creator needs to decide this week? (e.g., “Should we change our video intro format?”).
  3. Show one key number. Pull the most relevant metric from your analysis. Give it context with last week’s number. (e.g., “Hook drop-off is 40%, up from 35% last week.”).
  4. Make one clear recommendation. Based on that number, what is the very next action? Be specific. (e.g., “Test two new hook styles in the next 3 videos.”).
  5. Define the win. What does success look like by next Friday? (e.g., “Goal: Reduce hook drop-off to 38%.”). It’s like giving your analysis a clear destination.

Avoid These Traps

  • Don’t present three options. Present one strong recommendation with a brief “why.” Options cause delays.
  • Don’t bury the lead. Your key finding and request should be in the first three lines.
  • Don’t use jargon like “impression velocity.” Say “how fast views grow in the first hour.”
  • Don’t forget the “so what.” Every number needs a clear link to a business outcome.

Your Win by Friday

You’ll ship a single document that cuts through the noise. Instead of a data dump, you’ll deliver a clear path forward. Your stakeholder will have one thing to read, one decision to make, and one action to approve. That’s how you turn analysis into execution.
