Who This Helps
This is for you, Junior Analyst. You want to ship clean analysis with clear recommendations. The Data Storytelling for Stakeholders program helps you turn messy dashboards into a crisp narrative. You learn to focus effort on the highest-impact move.
Mini Case
Meet Li Wei. He is a Junior Analyst like you. He had 7 different takeaways from one dashboard. Stakeholders were confused. No one knew what to do next. Li Wei used the One Key Message mission from the program. He picked one key message and backed it with 3 supporting facts. The next week, his stakeholder said yes to the experiment in 5 minutes. That is a win.
Do This Now (5 Steps)
- Pick one decision. Ask: What is the one decision this analysis should drive? Write it down.
- Find your key message. Use the One Key Message mission. State it in one sentence.
- List 3 supporting facts. Each fact must be a number or a clear trend. For example, conversion dropped 12% last month.
- Choose your chart. Use the Chart Choice mission. Pick the visual that answers the stakeholder's question best.
- End with an ask. Write one clear request. Example: "Run experiment A next week. Owner: Li Wei."
Avoid These Traps
- Too many takeaways. Stick to one key message. Everything else is noise.
- No clear ask. If you do not say what to do next, nothing happens.
- Wrong chart. A pie chart with 12 slices helps no one. Use a simple bar or line.
- Skipping the stakeholder lens. You must know who you are talking to. Use the Stakeholder Lens mission.
- Hiding the numbers. If you have a 20% drop, say it loud. Do not bury it.
- No owner. Every ask needs a name. Who will do it? Write it.
- Too long. Keep it to one page. Use the Executive Snapshot mission.
- Forgetting the fun. Analysis is serious, but you can smile. A clear chart is a happy chart.
Your Win by Friday
By Friday, you will have one clean analysis with one key message, 3 supporting facts, and one clear ask. Your stakeholder will know exactly what to do. You will feel like a pro. And you will have more time for coffee.
