- Using vague terms like "active" or "engaged." Define them with numbers.

- Treating data contracts as one-time. Update them when data sources or business rules change.
- Forgetting to document the source. If you can't trace it, you can't trust it.
- Making it too complex. Start with one metric. Expand later.
