Who This Helps
This is for Product Managers tired of endless data debates. The Data Storytelling for Stakeholders course shows you how to build a weekly ritual that aligns product and ops on what to do next.
Mini Case
Li Wei’s team spent 45 minutes each week arguing over a messy dashboard. After launching a weekly analytics ritual with a one-page executive snapshot, they cut meeting time by 30% and made 3 clear decisions in their last session. The snapshot ended with a specific ask and owner, so everyone knew the next step.
Do This Now (5 Steps)
- Block 30 minutes on your calendar for the same time every week. Call it "Product Pulse."
- Invite one key stakeholder from product and one from ops. Keep it small.
- Prepare one page only. Use the Executive Snapshot mission from the course. Answer: What happened? So what? What do we do?
- Start the meeting by stating the one key decision you need to make. For example, "Do we pause feature X based on last week's 15% drop in engagement?"
- End by confirming the decision and the owner. Write it down in the meeting notes before anyone leaves.
Avoid These Traps
- Don't show the raw dashboard. It distracts. Choose one chart that answers the stakeholder’s core question.
- Don't let the meeting drift into general updates. Use your one key message to keep the conversation focused.
- Don't end without a clear next step. If there's no owner, the decision will evaporate by lunchtime.
- Don't invite more than four people. More voices lead to more opinions, not more clarity.
Your Win by Friday
By this Friday, you'll have held your first focused analytics ritual. You'll walk out with one agreed-upon decision instead of a list of confusing data points. Your stakeholders will thank you for the clarity—and you might just get your 45 minutes back. That’s a win worth celebrating with a proper coffee.
